Tubagua Ecolodge

Introduction to Tubagua Ecolodge

Tubagua Ecolodge is a family-owned and operated eco-resort that opened in 2009. The lodge was built with the goal of offering visitors a sustainable and authentic experience in the beautiful hills above Puerto Plata, while also supporting the local community.

The lodge is located on a 12-acre property surrounded by lush tropical forests and offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean in the distance. The lodge is designed to blend seamlessly into its natural surroundings, with rustic cabins, open-air lounges, and outdoor spaces that make the most of the area’s natural beauty.

Tubagua Ecolodge offers a range of accommodations to suit different needs and budgets. The lodge has five rustic cabins, each of which is designed to be environmentally friendly and sustainable.

The cabins are made of local materials, including bamboo, palm fronds, and sustainably harvested wood. They are designed to be cool and airy, with plenty of natural light and ventilation. Each cabin has a private bathroom, comfortable beds, and a spacious porch with stunning views of the surrounding forest.

For those seeking a more luxurious experience, the lodge also offers a two-bedroom villa with a private pool and a fully equipped kitchen. The villa is perfect for families or groups of friends who want to enjoy the lodge’s amenities while having their own private space.

Despite its rustic setting, Tubagua Ecolodge offers guests a range of amenities designed to make their stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The lodge has a restaurant that serves fresh, locally sourced cuisine, including vegetarian and vegan options.

There is also a bar where guests can enjoy a variety of cocktails and other drinks, as well as a lounge area with comfortable seating and stunning views. The lodge has a variety of outdoor spaces, including a swimming pool, a hot tub, and several hiking trails that lead through the surrounding forest.

For those who want to explore the area further, the lodge offers a range of excursions and activities, including visits to local beaches, waterfall hikes, and tours of nearby towns and cities.

One of the main goals of Tubagua Ecolodge is to be as environmentally sustainable as possible. The lodge is built using locally sourced materials and is designed to have a minimal impact on the surrounding environment.

The lodge also has a range of sustainable practices in place, including composting, recycling, and using solar power for some of its energy needs. The lodge works closely with the local community to support sustainable tourism and conservation efforts in the area.
