Cayenne GTS brakes up to snuff for a casual track evening at the Autodrome?
Quote from ianspencer on April 14, 2026, 12:43My brother in law finally convinced me to sign up for one of those novice track evenings at Dubai Autodrome next month and I'm both excited and slightly terrified because my 2021 Cayenne GTS is my daily driver that hauls kids to school and grocery runs most of the time not exactly a dedicated track toy but the idea of opening it up somewhere safe instead of just short bursts on Sheikh Zayed Road is pretty tempting. I had the pads checked during the last service at the dealer and they said there's about forty percent life left front and rear which for normal road use is totally fine but I'm suddenly having visions of brake fade halfway through the second lap and me looking like an absolute clown in front of a bunch of GT3s and M3s. I know these big SUVs are heavy and even with the upgraded GTS calipers they're asking a lot of the pads when you're repeatedly slowing down from triple digit speeds every couple of minutes and the last thing I want is to cook my fluid or glaze the rotors and then have a wobbly pedal for the drive home to Arabian Ranches. I've been trying to figure out if I should just run what I've got and take it easy or if it's worth booking a proper Porsche brake pad replacement service Dubai beforehand just to have fresh high temp fluid and maybe a set of pads that can handle a bit more heat without costing a fortune like the OEM surface coated ones. Anyone here actually tracked a heavy Cayenne on stock pads and lived to tell the tale or is that just asking for a very expensive and embarrassing evening?
