Are defective pixels covered under monitor warranty policies?

Depending on how many and what type of defective pixels are present on the screen, many brands handle defective pixels differently. In some cases, manufacturers will only replace displays when there are more than a certain number of dead pixels, while in other cases, they'll offer a guarantee that there are no dead pixels in premium devices. The damaged pixels may consist of dead pixels, stuck pixels or pixels that retain a high level of brightness. It is important to check the official warranty policy and perform a pixel test before sending for replacement so as to be able to document the problem clearly. Close-up pictures of the screen can also be useful in the support claims.
